These days two main bases of human life are their relations with one another and with technology. Living in hectic life with an unprecedented amount of rat race and human savagery, especially in an underdeveloped country in the midst of the boiling world, i. m. middle-east, I have been fascinated by the questions in which humankind is involved. Most of these questions are asked in the human science branch; however, in the age of technology and social networks, they are to be answered using technological apparatus and knowledge, especially computer science. Having been attracted by social and human science and computer science, and having graduated from high school, I selected computer science to onset my voyage toward social science. As I had been sure, computer science intrigued me completely. Nonetheless I, also, was concern about social problems in the middle-east societies, which were experiencing profound changes from traditions toward modernism. With this in my mind, I tried to do my best to provide me a concrete ground to the edifice that was going to be built upon in my undergraduate study.

As a bookworm, I spent my undergraduate study wiggling in books and journals about computer and social science. Having studied a great number of books, I understood that for making this burning world a tranquil one and for having a better life to live in, we had to be proactive. Therefore, trying to find a relation between human science and computer science, I came across with emerging and fascinating topics, social networks, which was trying to make a bridge between social gaps using the technological device. From the green movement in Iran to the Arabian spring, all of us were encountering the overwhelming power of social networks and media in conducting the demonstrations. The rallies were set off and led only by the mundane people who did not have any power to manipulate the mainstream news lets, and through social networks, they found their way to be heard by other people and authorities. These changes in the diffusion of information and challenges, to be addressed, sparked a chain of questions and ideas in my mind which their answers had to be found using social networks and complex networks.

After my undergrad, I was aware of the topic in which I was interested. With that in mind, I tried to pave my way to research on social network and media; however, this topic was a brand-new one, particularly in my country; therefore, I faced with a jagged and convoluted way. Regardless of the vicissitudes, I was resolute about the topic because it was the only one that could satisfy my interests, namely, computer science and human science. In my master thesis, I was involved with social networks “Comparison of presented online social network models (provided by complex network algorithms) focusing on constructed communities.” I did my best in my master thesis, and I could get a very decent grade in it. After graduation, I spent the next six months in professor Hasheminezhad’s research group working on social network models. During this period, I got a broad knowledge of complex networks and social network analysis.

Then, I was invited to work in professor Jalal Rezaeenour’s research group, where we were working on recommending systems in academic social networks to work on online academic social networks’ recommender systems. Afterward, in April 2019, I returned to professor Hasheminezhad’s research group to work on new research projects. In my new research experience, I started to work on the controversy in social networks and friend recommendation in social networks. we proposed a new measure for controversy which is able to work on attributed graphs.

Now I am following my education as a Ph.D. student under the supervision of professor Ricci where I am working on group recommender systems.
